A woman who bought a lifetime life insurance and lifetime cancer insurance policy from Cathay Life Insurance in 1997 was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and passed away from septic shock, but the insurance company refused to pay the 93 million death benefit, claiming that the cause of death was not covered. The family of the deceased has filed a complaint with the Insurance Evaluation Committee, disputing the company's decision.
