Integrating Nature into Architecture to Address Climate Change

Reported 12 months ago

According to statistics from the United States, nearly half of greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption are related to buildings. As the EU prioritizes environmental issues, it was revealed that buildings contribute 36% of greenhouse gas emissions and 40% of energy consumption. To tackle the challenge faced by modern architecture in balancing housing needs and climate change, architects are turning to wood construction due to its lower carbon footprint, renewable nature, and ability to store carbon. The trend of wooden buildings is gaining momentum globally, with countries like Japan and Sweden leading the way in constructing high-rise wooden buildings to promote sustainability and address climate change concerns.
