Reported 2 days ago

Intel has amended its CHIPS Act funding agreement with the U.S. Department of Commerce, allowing the company to access approximately $5.7 billion earlier than expected. The revised deal removes previous project milestones and offers Intel increased flexibility, while maintaining restrictions against using the funds for dividends, certain acquisitions, and expansion in specific countries. As part of the agreement, Intel issued shares to the U.S. government and has committed to responsible fund usage to enhance advanced chip manufacturing.
