Central Weather Bureau issued a special heavy rain warning in the afternoon, indicating intense development of convective cloud systems with a high chance of short-duration heavy rainfall in Yilan, Hualien, and mountainous areas north of Kaohsiung today. Residents are advised to watch out for lightning, strong gusts, and potential landslides. New Taipei City and Yilan County specifically are under immediate alerts for heavy thunderstorms, posing risks to outdoor activities and driving safety due to poor visibility, as well as potential landslides, falling rocks, and mudslides in mountainous regions. The warning covers New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Yilan County, and Hualien County.
