Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau issued real-time alerts for intense thunderstorms in Taichung City and Nantou County until 5:30 PM today, while Taipei City has been upgraded to a heavy rain warning lasting until tomorrow morning. Alerts were also issued for Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, Keelung City, New Taipei City, Taichung City, and Nantou County, warning of heavy rainfall, thunder and lightning, strong winds, and potential hazmat events. Outdoor activities are at risk due to poor visibility and possible landslides, rockfalls, and mudflows, with various regions under different levels of rain alerts.
