The Central Weather Bureau has issued special heavy rain warnings as convective cloud systems are developing vigorously, leading to short durations of heavy rainfall. Hougang County has already experienced heavy rain, and today (2nd) there is a probability of localized heavy rain in areas from Nantou, Chiayi, to Kaohsiung, Hualien, as well as Taoyuan to Taichung, Yunlin, and Yilan mountains. Citizens are advised to be cautious of lightning and strong gusts, and to take precautions against landslides, falling rocks, and flooding in mountainous areas. The special heavy rain warnings cover Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Yilan County, and Hualien County.
