During last year's Democratic Progressive Party primary elections in Taipei's 2nd district (Shilin, Datong), former DPP legislator He Zhiwei, along with party legislators Zhuang Ruixiong and Wang Shijian, engaged in a heated battle of words. He Zhiwei was unhappy with Zhuang Ruixiong and Wang Shijian's remarks, accusing them of using inappropriate campaign tactics and defamation. He publicly claimed that many gang members were introduced to the DPP by the He family, seeking a total of 6 million in damages from Wang and Zhuang. However, the Shilin District Court ruled against He Zhiwei on the 25th, with the option to appeal. The case is ongoing regarding accusations of aggravated defamation against Zhuang Ruixiong and Wang Shijian from last April.
