The government has introduced a plan to address the lack of medical care in 209 townships with 3.82 million people after 25 years of implementing national health insurance. In the second phase of the program, recruiting domestic dentists is prioritized, while international dentists are also invited to participate, with 17.5 billion NT dollars allocated for training. The program aims to improve rural medical resources and ensure fairness in rural healthcare. Both domestic and international dentists are required to undergo government arranged training to serve rural areas, and the government also emphasizes strict quality control measures. The International Dental Alumni Association highlights that international dental graduates are certified and meet Taiwan's accreditation standards, countering claims of lack of professional ability. Collaboration from all parties is urged to enhance rural healthcare.
