Recently in Missouri, the invasive species 'Northern Snakehead Fish' also known as 'Channa Argus' was discovered, posing a serious threat to the local ecosystem. With a long, snake-like body covered in scales, these carnivorous fish can survive in water and even on land as long as it stays moist. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) advises against releasing captured 'Northern Snakehead Fish', instead recommending immediate decapitation, removal of internal organs, or sealing in a plastic bag for disposal to prevent spread and protect native species.
