Invasive 'Snakehead Fish' Thriving in US: Officials Urging Decapitation and Gutting

Reported 7 months ago

The state of Missouri in the US dealt with its fourth instance of capturing the 'Northern Snakehead Fish,' an aggressive species native to Asia, with extreme survivability on land for days. Urging the public to immediately decapitate and gut the fish to prevent ecological damage, reports mentioned individuals leaving the fish for hours on the sidewalk, believing it dead, only to find it thriving. The authorities stress the importance of not releasing the fish back into water, recommending decapitation, gutting, or containment in a sealed plastic bag upon encountering it.
