Investar Holding Corp., a Louisiana-based bank, is entering the Dallas-Fort Worth market by acquiring Wichita Falls Bancshares for $84 million, significantly increasing its Texas deposits from 6% to 37%. This deal, which includes the 36-year-old First National Bank with five branches in the area, is set to close in the fourth quarter and reflects Investar's aggressive expansion strategy following its previous Texas acquisition in 2019. The merger is projected to enhance long-term value for customers and shareholders.
