Investigation Results of Fire at Clear Water Sky Revealed: Short Circuit in Pipeline Wiring Causes Fire, Excluding Charging Piles as Culprit

Reported about 1 year ago

On June 27, 2024, a fire incident at Building D of the Clear Water Sky residential complex in Hsinchu City resulted in the deaths of two firefighters. After a month of investigation, it was determined that the fire was caused by a short circuit in the power wiring between pipes on the first floor, ruling out charging piles or wiring as the cause. The investigation report has been submitted to the prosecutor's office for further action and the final outcome will be determined by the court. The city government is still awaiting submission of relevant construction materials documentation from the construction company responsible for Clear Water Sky, and further inquiries will be made regarding the compliance of the electrical cables with building regulations.
