In order to promote respect for the natural environment and protect the ecology and culture of the mountainous areas, the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Kaohsiung City Government organized a mountain cleaning and hiking event on the west side of Chai Mountain Trail on Gushan 3rd Road (former site of the Tainan Gushan Ready-Mix Plant) today. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai addressed the event and expressed the city's goal to assist serious Kaohsiung companies in implementing carbon neutrality transition by providing subsidies and technical support. Minister Chen Qi-ming, also present, emphasized cooperation between the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Kaohsiung on climate change issues, as well as the importance of maintaining cleanliness in local areas to prevent mosquitoes and control dengue fever.
