Iowa authorities concluded that a trucker, David Schultz, who had been missing for 30 days, was found dead less than a mile from his abandoned truck in April. The trucker from Wall Lake, Iowa, died from hypothermia after using meth, and his death was deemed accidental by the Sac County attorney’s office. Schultz had driven for nearly 30 hours without rest, ultimately leading to a medical emergency, causing him to abandon his truck and pass away in a cornfield. The case puzzled authorities and drew in a large number of internet sleuths trying to unravel the mystery.
