In the first round of Iran's presidential election, reformist candidate Peyzeshkian and ultraconservative candidate Jalili took the lead, but with no candidate securing over 50% of the vote, a runoff will be held on the 5th day. Only 40% of the 61 million eligible voters in Iran participated in the first round, marking the lowest voter turnout in a presidential election since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei addressed voters through state TV, emphasizing the importance of the second round and urging citizens to vote enthusiastically.
