Approximately one million taxpayers will soon receive up to $1,400 from the IRS due to missed Recovery Rebate Credits on their 2021 tax returns. Payments will be automatically issued, either via direct deposit or mailed checks, totaling around $2.4 billion. This initiative targets those who incorrectly filled in their credits or left them blank, and while most eligible taxpayers have already received their stimulus payments, these new funds will reach those who qualified but didn’t claim the credit. To receive the funds, late filers must submit their 2021 tax returns by April 15, 2025.
