Reported 9 months ago

On June 16, 2024, at 2:43 AM, Israel's military announced a 'strategic suspension of military activities' in certain southern areas of the Gaza Strip during daylight hours to allow more aid to enter Gaza. This decision, made after discussions with the United Nations and other organizations, aims to increase the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza. The military will halt activities each day from 8 AM to 7 PM along the Kerem Shalom Crossing to Salah al-Din highway until further notice, with the goal of addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza caused by Israel's military actions against Hamas. The World Health Organization has reported over 8,000 children under 5 in Gaza receiving treatment for acute malnutrition.
