Al Jazeera reported on June 23, 2024 that Israel launched large-scale airstrikes on various locations in Gaza Strip since June 22, resulting in at least 120 deaths. Due to the severe humanitarian crisis in the area, the Jordanian military collaborated with the United Nations and charitable organizations to send a convoy of 70 trucks with supplies to northern Gaza, alleviating the dire situation. Despite Israel's claims that the recent airstrikes targeted Hamas weapons and equipment storage facilities, reports from the Gaza Health Ministry under Hamas rule indicated that residential buildings in Tuffah area, as well as refugee camps in Shati and Mawasi, suffered severe damage and casualties, with the death toll rising. The Jordanian military, JHCO, and WFP mobilized a humanitarian convoy to provide aid and medical treatment, as the number of injured continued to increase. Meanwhile, the Yemeni rebel group Youth Movement claimed responsibility for attacking four ships in the northern Israeli port of Haifa in retaliation for the Israeli airstrikes, raising concerns for maritime security in the eastern Mediterranean. In two consecutive days of airstrikes in Gaza, over 120 people were reported dead.
