An Israeli private investigator, Amit Forlit, who was arrested in London on cybercrime and wire fraud charges, had previously been questioned by FBI agents about his work for the Washington public affairs firm DCI Group. This revelation indicates a broader U.S. investigation into cybermercenary activities than previously known. Forlit was released on bail after his initial arrest, and his lawyers did not respond to inquiries. The FBI declined to comment, while DCI Group stated that they require compliance with the law from all employees and consultants. Forlit is also facing a lawsuit in New York federal court for his alleged involvement in the theft of emails from aviation executive Farhad Azima in 2016, with court records showing business ties between Forlit and DCI Group.
