A jury has determined that Johnson & Johnson must pay $15 million to Evan Plotkin, a Connecticut man who claims that his use of the company's talc powder caused him to develop mesothelioma, a rare cancer. The jury's decision also includes the possibility of additional punitive damages to be assessed later. J&J plans to appeal the ruling, contesting the trial judge's decisions that they believe prevented important evidence from being presented.
