J&J to Spin Off Orthopedics Business and Increases Full-Year Forecast

Reported 18 days ago

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate its orthopedics business into a standalone entity, DePuy Synthes, expected to occur within the next 18 to 24 months. This move marks J&J's second significant spinoff since it separated its consumer unit, Kenvue, in 2023. The orthopedics unit, which generated around $9.2 billion last year, is part of a broader strategy to focus on high-growth areas. Additionally, J&J raised its 2025 sales forecast by $300 million, expecting product revenue to reach between $93.5 billion and $93.9 billion.
