J.T. Realmuto to have surgery on right knee

Reported about 1 year ago

Philadelphia Phillies' catcher J.T. Realmuto will undergo right knee meniscectomy surgery in Philadelphia after dealing with soreness in the knee for about a month. The surgery will likely see him out for an extended period, similar to Mike Trout's timetable when he underwent a similar procedure. The Phillies may have to acquire another catcher due to the limited depth at that position, as Realmuto's absence is considered a major blow to the team given his all-around value and leadership role.
