The inaugural Trash-Picking World Cup named 'SpoGOMI' was recently held in the Shibuya Ward of Tokyo, Japan, where representatives from 21 nations who advanced through the qualifiers competed fiercely. The UK team emerged as champions with the Japanese team finishing second. The event, originating in Japan, involved teams of 3 collecting trash in designated areas within specific time limits to earn points. Organized by Social Sports Initiative, the competition aimed to promote environmental awareness through trash picking. The next World Cup will feature more countries, following the success of the first event.
