Japan issued new banknotes with redesigned 10,000, 5,000, and 1,000 yen denominations, marking the first revamp in 20 years to enhance security and usability. The 10,000 yen note features 'Father of Modern Japanese Economy,' Eiichi Shibusawa, replacing Yukichi Fukuzawa, aiming to promote the city of Saitama. The government emphasized that old banknotes can still be used. The new banknotes incorporate advanced security features like holograms, universal design for better recognition, and tactile enhancements for visually impaired individuals.
