Japan's Defense Minister Plans July Visit to UK for Discussions on Next-Generation Fighter Jet Development

According to a report by Kyodo News and Asahi Shimbun, Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi is considering visiting the UK in late July to hold talks with UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace. The two governments are in discussions to strengthen cooperation, jointly develop a new generation of fighter jets, and launch a global combat air project to be based in the UK under the management of the international organization GIGO. Ahead of GIGO's establishment, Kishi's visit aims to push the project forward smoothly, considering the upcoming UK elections and the importance of establishing early relationships with the new cabinet for the joint development of the new fighter jet.
