Japanese exports to the United States decreased by 13.8% in August compared to the previous year, marking the fifth consecutive month of decline. This downturn in auto exports is attributed to tariffs imposed by President Trump, although the tariff rate was recently reduced from 27.5% to 15%. Overall, Japan's exports saw a slight drop of 0.1%, while imports from the US increased by 11.6%.
