Japan's manufacturing sector experienced its steepest decline in three months during October, driven by poor domestic and international demand, according to a private survey. The manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) fell from 49.7 in September to 49.2, remaining below the neutral mark of 50 for the fourth consecutive month. The downturn was attributed to declining sales, particularly in the semiconductor and automotive industries, and persistent weakness in new orders. Despite rising input costs and a continued inflationary environment, manufacturers' outlook remains cautious amid concerns about future economic recovery.
