Hiroshi Kasamatsu, a Japanese executive and director of the Myanmar supermarket Aeon Orange, has been released after serving over a month in detention for selling rice above government-set prices. He was convicted of violating pricing regulations and sentenced to one year in prison, along with a fine. Japan's Foreign Ministry confirmed his release, indicating that his health is good, though it remains unclear whether he will return to Japan or stay in Myanmar.
