Reported 6 months ago

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida publicly pledged further capital market reforms and promotion of asset management in a speech to global investors in Tokyo, aiming to attract foreign investment and position Japan as a hub for the asset management industry. The government plans to establish special business zones for asset management firms to facilitate their setup in Japan and conduct business in English, with an announcement on this expected in June. Japan's largest banks are also boosting their asset management businesses in response to the government's reforms.
