Japan's ruling party plans to allocate about ¥1 trillion ($6.5 billion) yearly to bolster the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries, moving away from reliance on supplementary budgets. This shift, led by lawmaker Yoshihiro Seki, aims for more stable funding as part of a broader strategy launched in 2021, which has already committed roughly ¥5.7 trillion to these sectors. The new budget approach will facilitate consistent support, aligning with a promise of over ¥10 trillion in public funding.
