Japanese Mayor and 51 Citizens of Yamagata City Visit Tainan to Support Tourism, Mayor Huang Wei-Che Welcomes Them with Various Mangoes and Dragon Fruits

On July 5, 2024, Japanese Mayor Takahiro Sato and Council Chairman Koichi Hasegawa led a group of 51 people from Yamagata City to visit Mayor Huang Wei-Che in Tainan. The two cities have been sister cities since 2017, with several visits exchanged between them. This time, in addition to government officials and business representatives, citizens from Yamagata City also joined the trip to promote tourism in Tainan. Mayor Huang was delighted to see the official delegation from Yamagata City accompanied by citizens visiting Tainan. Upon their arrival, Mayor Huang welcomed them with the newly launched 'Mango Treasure Box' and red and white dragon fruits. He also introduced the red-flesh dragon fruits approved for export to Japan in June, aiming to promote Tainan's agricultural products. Mayor Huang expressed gratitude for the support and encouraged further cultural exchange between the two cities, wishing for the lasting friendship between Tainan and Yamagata.
