Japanese outbreak of 'cannibal bacteria' epidemic : Former Taipei Medical University doctor urges resuming 'epidemic 2 habits' - no need to cancel trips

Reported 10 months ago

Japan has seen an outbreak of the 'cannibal bacteria' epidemic, with nearly a thousand people infected by A-type streptococcus causing streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS), 2.8 times the number from the same period last year, causing concern for many Taiwanese planning to travel there. Dr. Lin, a former Taipei Medical University infection specialist, suggests resuming two habits from the COVID-19 epidemic period to reduce the risk of infection if travelers do not want to cancel their trips to Japan: wearing masks and washing hands frequently.
