Japanese yen new banknotes, the first in 20 years, with a total of 1.6 trillion yen, are being distributed to various financial institutions in Japan today. The Bank of Japan Governor mentioned that despite the popularity of electronic payments, cash will continue to play a crucial role in the future. There have been rumors of fraudsters selling old banknotes to the elderly as worthless, which the BOJ clarified as false, emphasizing that old banknotes can still be used even after the new ones are issued.
