South Korea welcomed the rainy season this weekend with almost the entire country under heavy rain warnings. Jeju Island recorded over 120mm of rainfall in 24 hours, causing flooding in half-underground homes in Bucheon City. The intensity of the rainy season is attributed to the higher sea temperatures this summer, with the West Sea's temperature being approximately 2°C higher than usual. Despite efforts to improve disaster prevention measures, issues with flooding persist, reflecting the challenges faced by South Korea during the monsoon season.
