Joey Chestnut expresses disappointment over being banned from Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

Reported about 1 year ago

Joey Chestnut, the reigning champion of Nathan’s Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest, expressed his disappointment in being banned from this year’s event due to a deal with a competitor. Chestnut, who has won the contest 16 times, shared his sadness on Instagram and clarified that he does not have a contract with Nathan’s or Major League Eating. Despite being banned, a representative for Major League Eating stated they reached an agreement for Chestnut to compete in a Labor Day hot dog eating contest taped by Netflix as long as no hot dog brands were mentioned. Chestnut holds the men's world record of eating 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, and he expressed gratitude towards his fans for their support throughout the years.
