Former Cheltenham Town manager Gary Johnson has returned to the club as director of football after a successful three-year spell from 2015 to 2018, where he guided the team to the National League title. Johnson, who most recently managed Torquay United, will now assist in recruiting a new manager for Cheltenham following their relegation from League One. With an extensive managerial career that includes successes at Yeovil Town and Bristol City, Johnson's appointment is seen as a positive step towards rebuilding and bouncing back from the disappointment of the previous season.
