Join the Fun of Rice Harvesting in New Taipei Wetlands in 2024 on July 9th

Reported about 1 year ago

New Taipei City Government's Coastal Development Management Office will hold the '2024 New Taipei Wetland Rice Harvesting Fun' event on August 3 and 4 this year, allowing children in the city to experience rural life by cutting rice in the golden waves of the New Sea Phase III artificial wetland. Registration will open on July 9 at 11 a.m. for both adults and kids to enjoy the slow-paced countryside lifestyle. These eight artificial wetlands along the Dahan River in New Taipei were initially built for water purification, ecological habitat enhancement, and biodiversity promotion. The New Sea Phase III wetland integrates environmental education by cultivating economic crops, such as rice, water bamboo, wild ginger flowers, lotus, and Indian pennywort, to familiarize urban children with common rural crops.
