Joint Efforts of Police and Municipal Civil Affairs Office to Combat Scams in Neighborhoods

Reported about 1 year ago

To increase the reach of anti-scam awareness messages, Keelung City Police Department collaborated with the Municipal Civil Affairs Office to conduct extensive dissemination of the latest scam prevention information throughout neighborhoods. Through long-term engagement with community leaders and residents, the initiative aims to reduce the risk of residents falling victim to scams. The Civil Affairs Office has planned a series of self-improvement activities for community leaders starting on June 26, with the first day featuring the Anti-Scam Promotion Team providing detailed explanations of various scam techniques, particularly focusing on recent increases in fraudulent investment schemes. Residents are advised to carefully evaluate investment opportunities, avoid dubious channels or platforms, and be cautious of high-profit and low-risk investment promises, as these could be indicators of scams. The collaboration aims to empower community leaders to spread anti-scam knowledge across all corners of society, emphasizing the importance of staying vigilant and seeking verification to safeguard personal finances against scams.
