Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter has been banned for life by the NBA due to betting on his own games. His lawyer disclosed that Porter is currently undergoing treatment for a gambling addiction and is cooperating with authorities. Three co-defendants have already been arrested in connection with the scandal, but Porter is not named in the complaint nor currently charged. The investigation found that Porter manipulated his playing time in certain games to influence betting outcomes, placing multiple bets on NBA games totaling over $54,000 and winning $21,965.
