July US Factory Orders Decline Due to Weak Aircraft Demand

Reported 1 day ago

In July, U.S. factory orders fell by 1.3%, primarily due to a significant 32.7% drop in commercial aircraft bookings. Despite this decline, business spending on equipment remained robust, with non-defense capital goods orders rising by 1.1%. The manufacturing sector continues to be affected by tariffs and declining demand, as indicated by the ongoing contraction in the manufacturing PMI.
