Kao Chien-Ming, the DPP Legislative Yuan caucus convener, was caught smoking at the entrance of a legislative chamber on June 13th and has been fined 2,000 yuan by the Taipei Health Bureau. This incident occurred during inter-party negotiations at the Legislative Yuan, where Kao was seen on live broadcast footage smoking near the meeting room door. Following a report from the blue camp, the Taipei Health Bureau issued the penalty after Kao's failure to provide a statement in response to the complaint within the stipulated deadline, citing evidence of a violation of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act.
