On June 14, 2024, in Kaohsiung's Daliao District, a family-owned auto repair shop in Jhong-Jhuang area was shot at, with 20 rifle bullets found on the scene. The suspect fled by car after the incident. The police special task force tracked down the 34-year-old suspect, surnamed Tsai, to Chiayi and arrested him around 3 pm. The suspect abandoned the vehicle along a riverbank in Pingtung after the shooting, and the task force pursued him to Chiayi for arrest and interrogation.
