Nationalist Party nominated Kaohsiung's 2nd district councilor candidate Zheng Dongyuan was accused of bribery during a banquet held two years ago but was acquitted by the Qiaotou District Court. The court concluded that most attendees were not voters in the district and could not determine if the banquet influenced voter behavior. Zheng and two campaign aides were cleared of charges, with the case being open to appeal.
