Early this morning on June 24, 2024, a 27-year-old man surnamed Ding in Kaohsiung Three-Mountain District accidentally hit a transformer box by the sidewalk while driving a small van, causing sparks and damage to 6 motorcycles and 1 small car parked nearby, resulting in an immediate power outage for 826 households in the vicinity. Taiwan Power Company (TPC) rushed to repair the damage and will later seek compensation from Ding based on the evaluation of equipment damage. Despite the inconvenience caused, no serious injuries were reported apart from Ding sustaining minor abrasions on his left foot, and TPC is working on restoring power to all affected households.
