Kaohsiung Mayor and People First Party Chairman Ko Wen-je responded to current events by criticizing President Lai Ching-te's decision to establish three committees to address climate change, public health, and national defense, stating that aside from placing his own people in positions, he couldn't see much benefit from them. Ko Wen-je also expressed concern over the delay between the presidential election and inauguration, suggesting that President Lai should have a clear plan from day one of his presidency. He emphasized the need for clarity on the goals and tasks of the newly established committees, questioning their effectiveness without clear objectives.
