During a meeting on June 12, Kaohsiung Mayor Ko Wen-je mentioned that he has not seen Wu Dong-jin for over a year amid allegations of wrongdoing. Wu Dong-jin, the former chairman of Shin Kong Life, was summoned by prosecutors for questioning related to potential illegal activities involving the construction project 'Shin Ban Jie Shi Bao.' Ko Wen-je did not confirm whether he believes in Wu's innocence but stated he has not seen him for over a year. The investigation involves allegations of causing financial losses to Shin Kong Life through inflated budgetary practices. Despite recent calls for the dismissal of Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chong-an, Ko emphasized the importance of evaluating performance rather than engaging in political mudslinging. Regarding legislative reforms, Ko mentioned that the Fiscal Budget Act has not been revised in over 20 years and criticized the inconsistency in advocating for revisions yet also claiming there is insufficient central government funding. Ko also mentioned preparing for potential street campaigns depending on the timing of parliamentary debates.
