The Kaohsiung temple's chairman, surnamed Zeng, is suspected of drug trafficking. The Qiaotou District Prosecutor's Office commanded the police to search Zeng's residence and other locations related to the case, leading to the seizure of approximately 8.5 kilograms of Class 1 and 2 drugs. Zeng and 8 other individuals were arrested and taken into custody. Prosecutors applied for Zeng's detention and isolation, while an accomplice surnamed Li was released on bail of NT$30,000, and the remaining individuals were let go. Zeng, known as an 'Internet Celebrity Chairman', was active in temple activities and media appearances before his arrest on drug-related charges. The temple issues a statement clarifying that Zeng's actions are personal and not related to the temple, with his duties temporarily delegated to a vice chairman.
