A landslide occurred in the slope of Beining Road at the entrance of Chaojing Park, 70 kilometers along Provincial Highway 2 in Keelung on June 9, 2024, blocking traffic in both directions. Originally scheduled to open on the 11th, it will officially open early today (10th) at 2 PM. Minister of Transportation Lee Meng-yan announced the early opening, with a 6-meter buffer zone left on site, slightly reduced road width, maintaining a speed limit of 25 km/h for safety. 10 vehicles and 1 motorcycle were affected by the landslide, with 8 people rescued and 2 hospitalized. The repair was initially estimated to take about a week, with both ways expected to resume on the 11th, but the good news came on the last day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, opening officially at 2 PM today.
