Keelung City Allocates Extra 700 Million Budget for Electric Vehicles, Controversy Over 36 Million Promotion Fee

Reported 7 months ago

During a Keelung City Council meeting on June 12, where the budget for electric motorbikes 2.0 and 3.0 plans was being discussed, the approval of an additional 700 million NT dollars sparked controversy. Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) councilors staged a collective walkout during the final vote, questioning the necessity of the 36 million NT dollars allocated for administrative and promotional fees. The city reiterated its commitment to abide by the council's decisions, despite the criticism from DPP councilors who felt the budget, especially the promotional expenses, was unnecessary.
