Due to an increase in applications for Keelung City's Youth Electric Scooter 2.0 program leading to budget exhaustion, the city started controlling the daily application intake from June 14th, allowing only 30 applications per day in the Anle District and 20 in other areas. This caused chaos with people queuing overnight, leading to complaints from the public and city council members about the poorly planned policy. Mayor Xie Guoliang apologized today, promising improved solutions in the future. The situation sparked frustration among citizens, with some resorting to paying others to queue on their behalf. Officials acknowledged the shortcomings of the current procedure and promised better coordination with residents and the city council moving forward.
